Today is the first day back from Fall break. I am signing up for a new bolt and also doing my portfolio and just catching up on everything and getting back to working.

Oct, 21st 2016

The 2nd inquiry block- I really enjoyed it. I felt like I did learn a lot too. I had a lot of research and I tried my best to explain that to people when people came to my booth. I feel like people understood it well and didn't walk away confused or anything like so. It was hard when researching and a lot of words came up that I didn't understand, then I would have to research those words and it got confusing at times but I tried to just stick to my topic and not get into other eye questions. I feel like i did a good job explaining it and telling people what I learned. A lot of people asked questions after wards... I was not nervous about the questions they would ask because i had plenty info and research so I felt like I could explain and answer every question that they would ask. Overall, It went super good and I really enjoyed this inquiry block.

I am getting my slide shows together for the inquiry block #3. My question is how do people get blind and I am doing that question because I am interested in it, and think it would be a good follow up from my last question why do we all have different eye colors. A lot of  people were asking about blindness so I thought I would do this question for this inquiry block.

November, 21st 2016:

I am in the mouse trap bolt and on the first bolt I didn't do so well. My car didn't move but on the 2nd one which we are working on right now, so far it is working and it is already a lot better then the other one already. I really like this bolt so far.

November, 29th 2016

Yesterday, the 28th we went on a really cool field trip for the bolt I am currently in. We learned how to grow our own stuff like tomatoes in a green house it was really neat to see.. The green house was really cool and full of growing things. We got to try a tomato and it was really good because all their stuff is organic.

December, 13th 2016 Mouse Trap:

For this first challenge, our car didn't successfully work. therefore, we didn't complete the challenge successfully. Here are some reasons why I think the car didn't work: the wheels were too tight, didn't grip onto the car well. I think the tires were the main part of why the car didn't move at all (barely) We tried different things to make the car work such as adding different attachments for the wheels to make the wheels spin but that didn't work too well. It did not help. I don't think it helped because it was too tight and didn't have room to move around.

December, 13th 2016 Mouse Trap:

This challenge, I think we did a decent job on this one. The design of the car was basic, we had a piece of wood on the bottom, and the mousetrap on top with a little thing on wood to be the stopper of the spoon. We kinda successfully did the challenge because we made it in the bucket a couple of times (Not when Mrs. Lang watched) But when she did watch it was very close but didn't actually make it in the bucket. I think it did work pretty well cause we had a straight up plan and it turned out working pretty well, also the launcher was pretty good too and it could go pretty far. Something we tried to make it work a little better was to make the launcher (spoon flicker) go exactly how far we needed it to go, it didn't really help much cause it would either go too far, or not go far at all. It didn't help cause then Mrs. Lang told us we could just move back the car.

December, 13th 2016 Mouse Trap:

We had a paper towel roll as the base, we then had two pencils going into the base and we put 1 wheel in the front of the car, and two wheels in the back of the car. Than, we had the mousetrap on top of the whole thing. No, our car didn't successfully complete the challenge. The reasons why It didn't work was because the wheels didn't move smoothly at all. If we had better wheels that actually moved I think this car could've turned out really great. We tried different string like 10 times not even kidding. We used fish line pole string and it worked well except it broke whenever we tested it out so we tried a lot of different string and ended up going back to the fisher line string. It didn't help at all it just wasted our time we should have just stayed with the same string the whole time. The different strings didn't help at all because they were too thick and didn't have room to move and un tie.
